Teaching Truths for Parents
I've been a public school teacher for 15 years now. In every parent-teacher conference I have heard a parent say "I wish I had known how you did that! School is so much different now!"
As an educator, I have the gift of understanding children's social, emotional, physical, moral and educational milestones. This gift is not a superpower. It comes from going to school to become a teacher, and is time tested in the most brutal lab ever - the classroom. I share these thoughts and stories to give insight into the why and how of the classroom, and how it can support your parenting at home.

Thinking About Teaching
Teaching is a wonderfully complex profession. It requires more of us than just a master's degree. Instead of offering lesson plans, I'd like to offer ways to think more deeply about our teaching and the education system as a whole. It's posts look behind the curtain of the classroom to take us into a place where students and teachers can become their joyful, truest selves.

This is me, still happy and smiling after 15 years of teaching in the classroom!
